Cordero Mario Derthona Timorasso

Derthona is Cordero Mario's expression of Timorasso from the Colli Tortonesi, grown on the calcareous-clay Sant'Agata Marls that give the area's wines their distinctive minerality. Made exclusively from Timorasso, the wine ferments at controlled temperature in stainless steel following gentle pressing, then rests on its fine lees for several months to build structure naturally, without the use of oak. In the glass it shows a bright, consistent straw yellow, with a fine, layered bouquet of yellow peach, wildflowers and flint, framed by a long, saline mineral finish. On the palate it is harmonious and dynamic, with vibrant freshness and a chalky salinity that carries through a long finish.
