Vigna del Capannino is Tenuta di Bibbiano's single-vineyard Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, made exclusively from the Sangiovese Grosso clone grown on the south-west facing Capannino vineyard overlooking Monteriggioni. Fermented for over 30 days and aged 24 months across cement, French oak and Slavonian oak before further bottle ageing, it shows an intense ruby red with aromas of sour black cherry, prune and balsamic spice. Structured and sapid on the palate, with elegant, soft tannins. A powerful, age-worthy expression best paired with bistecca alla Fiorentina, braised beef or aged pecorino.
